Belén López De Carlo was born in 1991 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has a degree in Visual Arts from the University of the Argentine Social Museum, UMSA, and is trained as a Scenographic Director at Higher Institute of Art of the Teatro Colón. Belén did a clinic workshop with Leila Tschopp in the Hunters Foundation Artists Program in 2019 and was part of the PAC 2020 Project of Gachi Prieto Gallery. She has created works for the Museum of Modern Art of Buenos Aires, the Larreta Museum, the National Library, Tecnópolis and private spaces & currently teaches drawing and painting classes at her art studio. Through her works, Belén makes visible a society anesthetized by contemporary technologies. She’s interested in recording the anguish and melancholy of a generation, the frivolous interactions that only remain online, the eternal search for approval, and the virtual world as a new territory. Belén lives and works in Buenos Aires.
